In this week’s episode of the SIMPLE brand With Matt Lyles podcast I talk with Kris Kelso, author of: Overcoming the Imposter: Silence Your Inner Critic and Lead With Confidence!
Some of the biggest barriers to our effectiveness are the ones we put up ourselves. And imposer syndrome is one of those barriers I had to overcome if I was going to succeed in my career, in my marriage, as a parent, and more.
For the longest time, I thought I was the only one who struggled with. But it turns out I wasn’t alone. It turns out that that a lot of people suffer from it – A LOT.
In fact, according to the International Journal of Behavioral Science – over 70% of people experience imposter syndrome and that inner critic voice at some point.
So if you don’t suffer from it, there’s a high chance that your people do.
And if you’re like me, and you do suffer from or experience it, then there are tools to help you overcome it – likely more quickly than I did.
And that’s why I’m happy to talk with Kris Kelso in this episode.
Kris is an executive coach and speaker who’s helped thousands of leaders turn their teams around. And he’s the author of the book: Overcoming the Imposter: Silence Your Inner Critic and Lead With Confidence.
Kris and I talk about something that most leaders struggle with – that inner critic voice that downplays our own accomplishments and tells us we don’t have what it takes. And we talk about strategies and tools to silence that inner critic voice to be able to emerge as more effective and confident leaders.
The book provides the powerful tools needed to expose the Impostor’s methods and emerge as more effective and confident leaders.
